In August 2026 an audit of every statistic published on ManufacturingSEO.ai found that figures across this section could not be confirmed from the sources credited for them. The section was withdrawn from search indexing rather than corrected in place, and it will be rebuilt from primary data rather than repaired.

What the audit found

Twenty figures were checked across six pages, selected for the pages carrying the most internal links rather than at random. None of them could be verified from the URL cited for it.

  • Most citations pointed at an institution’s programme landing page rather than at the data. Right institution, wrong page, and the figure not present on it.
  • Several sources gave a different value for the same measure than the page claimed.
  • One citation returned a normal HTTP response while serving an error page.
  • One figure restated a five-year total as an annual rate, making the published number four times the source’s.
  • Eleven cited URLs no longer resolved at all.

The finding is about provenance rather than invention. Most figures are plausible and come from the right organisations. What the audit established is that no figure in the section had been checked against its source, because a citation pointing at a front door cannot survive being checked: verifying it would have replaced it with a link to the data.

What happens next

Nothing has been deleted. The pages remain reachable and each one now carries a notice saying its figures are unverified. They are excluded from the sitemap and from the machine-readable indexes, and they should not be cited.

Rebuilt pages will state, for every figure: a link to the data itself rather than the publisher’s front page, the series or table identifier, the publication date, the figure as the source states it, and the date it was retrieved where a source updates in place. A figure that cannot meet that standard will not be published, however plausible it looks.
